Pichler Hut (1,918 m)

The Pichlerhütte, at 1,918 meters, is situated in a sunny, panoramic location on the Gitschberg and is a wonderful destination for connoisseurs, families, and nature lovers. You can look forward to an impressive view of the Dolomites as well as the Eisack and Puster valleys, homemade South Tyrolean specialties, and a spacious sun terrace.

🚶🥾 Accessibility:

1. The easiest hike—via the Gitschberg Cable Car

Take the Gitschberg Cable Car to the mountain station

From there, follow the signposted Panorama Trail toward the Pichlerhütte

Easy hike on wide alpine trails

Walking time: approx. 45–60 minutes

Ideal for families, leisure hikers, and seniors

2. Beautiful loop hike

If you’d like to be out a bit longer, you can incorporate the Pichlerhütte into the popular Alpine Hut Loop Trail on the Gitschberg:

Mountain station → Gitschhütte → Moserhütte → Bacherhütte → Kiener Alm → Pichlerhütte → Mountain station

Walking time: approx. 4.5–5 hours

3. Starting directly from Mountain Lodge Margit

For fit guests, the hike is also possible starting directly from the lodge or from Meransen

Ascent via forest and alpine trails toward the Gitschberg area

approx. 500–700 meters of elevation gain

ideal for hikers who prefer to avoid the mountain railway
