Gorge Tour - Hike to and through the Liechtenstein Gorge

Together with your hiking guide Vanessa, you’ll hike along the forest trail from Alpendorf down to the Liechtensteinklamm. During the hike, Vanessa will not only share fascinating details about how the gorge was formed, but also interesting facts about its history of discovery and the role of the Prince of Liechtenstein, after whom the gorge is named. Vanessa will also explain how the elaborate infrastructure—including footbridges, bridges, and the spectacular Helix staircase—must be constantly maintained to keep the gorge safe and accessible to visitors while preserving the natural environment. Right at the entrance, the narrow gorge impresses with its unique atmosphere: rushing water, towering rock faces, and the fascinating interplay of light and shadow give you a sense of the forces of nature at work here. After crossing the gorge, you’ll return to the entrance of the Liechtenstein Gorge, from where you’ll make your own way back to Alpendorf—with many memories to take home and the sound of the waterfalls still ringing in your ears.

Meeting point/start: Every Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the Alpendorf Gondola parking lot (information office, ground floor)
