EASY HIKE - Our Father's Way

Brief description:

Along the route, eight stations with depictions of the most important elements of prayer invite you to contemplate and meditate. Dr. Walter Besler from Zöblen is the creator of the pictures, which are embedded in granite blocks about the height of a man

Description:

On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus vow, with which the Tyroleans celebrated their victory over Napoleon, the parish of Grän in the Tannheimer Tal created a path of inner contemplation in 1996. This combines meditation, art and nature in a special way. Since then, numerous walkers and hikers have walked the "Our Father's Way", which is just over a kilometer long, from St. Michael's Chapel in Lumberg towards Tannheim path no. 1.

A HIKING EXCITEMENT - to the Zipfelsalpe

Description:

Through the beautiful Stuibental valley past the Wannenjoch into the Ostrachtal valley to the Zipfelsalpe. Enjoy the wonderful flora and fauna along the entire route. Behind you is probably the most beautiful high valley in Europe and in front of you are fantastic mountain peaks. Behind them lies the neighboring Allgäu. Views and impressions say more than a thousand words. You can look forward to a beautiful natural backdrop.

Directions:

From the lift parking lot in Schattwald, head east, past the Kneipp facility, over a small bridge and uphill to the right. The gravel forest path leads through the Stuiben valley and through the forest. Turn right at the Untere Stuiben Alpe (no hut), continue into the basin and climb up to the saddle. A beautiful high plateau with the ruins of the Oberer Stuiben can be seen. From here it is a gentle descent to the Zipfelsalpe. The way back runs along the eastern flank of the Wannenjoch. The trail is moderately steep, first uphill, then downhill to the Wannenjochbahn mountain station. Here at the Jochstadel, as well as at the Zipfelsalpe, you can stop for refreshments. The descent runs along the hiking trail on the ski slope for a while, then on a forest path through the forest towards Stuibental, almost to the valley station of the Stuiben lift. To the left, downhill towards Schattwald, the trail leads back to the starting point. It is possible to take the chairlift up or down and to reach the Zipfelsalpe from the mountain station with an easy ascent and descent.
