Route description:
The starting point is the Sonneckbrücke car park. From here you either follow the forest path or the trail through the forest to the Breitenebenalm. From the Breitenebenalm it is a leisurely walk along the forest path across fields and through forests to the Karseggalm. At 400 years old, the Karseggalm is the oldest hut in Salzburger Land.
Tip: Stop off here!
From the Karseggalm, the path leads relatively directly in the direction of Kitzstein/Gabel. Shortly before the summit, there is some steeper terrain to conquer - good footwear required!
After the descent from the summit, the second half of the tour leads past the Maurachalm back to St. Johann to the Gernkogel. On the way back to Alpendorf, you will pass the reservoir and the Geisterberg.
