In der Breitenau 5, Oberammergau
In the south-eastern Bavarian Allgäu, in Henschwangau near Füssen, is one of Germany's most famous sights. This castle was built for the Bavarian King Ludwig from 1869 and was his idealized idea of a medieval knight's castle. The king only lived in the castle for a few months, as he died before it was completed. The castle can only be visited as part of a guided tour. This fairytale castle is world-famous, partly because it has often been used as a backdrop for international films.
