From the goods road a narrow road leads first steeply up to the left, then always slightly ascending through the forest towards Gründecksattel and further along the signposted paths towards Hochgründeck. The Chapel of Peace above the Heinrich Kiener House on the St. Rupert Pilgrims' Path is worth seeing.

The Hochgründeck is one of the highest forested mountains in Europe and is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in Austria. The relatively long tour is rewarded with a view of some 300 peaks, including the Hochkönig, the Tennengebirge, the Dachstein, the Niedere and Hohe Tauern, the Kitzbühler Alps and the Dientner Schieferberge.

Afterwards you hike back the same way until the turnoff Obergründeck. The trail continues in the direction of St. Johann Hahnbaum to the Vogei Hut.

The hiking bus will pick you up there again at 15:00.
