Lower Inn River European Nature Reserve
The Bavarian-Austrian Lower Inn River European Nature Reserve stretches across the border from the mouth of the Salzach to the mouth of the Rott and consists of huge expanses of water, mud banks, islands and alluvial forests.
2 countries, 9 protected areas, 55 kilometers of river, 300 bird species, 800 butterfly species, 5,500 hectares, 100,000 aahs and oohs ...
A visit to the Lower Inn European Nature Reserve is particularly spectacular during the autumn and spring weeks. This is when tens of thousands of birds can be observed from the viewing platforms on their way south or back to their breeding grounds further north.
