Helpful facts

Ultimate Fisbee is an interesting game that is well suited for almost all groups at school. It can be played in many variations.

Ultimate promotes team spirit and fair play.

Game idea

By skillfully throwing the Frisbee disc, one team tries to catch the disc in the opponent's end zone. No running is allowed with the disc in hand, but a star step and a stop step are allowed.

Disc possession changes when the disc is intercepted by the opposing team, lands in the "out" or touches the ground.

Number of players and court size are variable.

(Official game: 7 players each; end zone 23 m, intermediate zone 64 m); game time 2x25 min. or up to 13 resp.15 points)

... Rules

Throw-off:

Both teams stand along their end zone.

The defending team throws the disc as far as possible into the opponent's field. The attacking team starts its move where the disc touches the ground or sails over the out-of-bounds line.

Running with the disc is not allowed.

Passing is the only way to move the disc forward.

A running player/catcher may of course stop (max. three steps).

Pitching while catching is allowed (but be careful!).

The thrower may take a star step (moving one foot while the other foot remains on the ground).

Disc possession changes when it is caught by the opposing team, touches the ground, or sails into the "out."(Addition: Disc possession also occurs when the disc is knocked to the ground by the opposing team. So simply any case of a pass not completed within a team. It is not a question of who touched the disc last, but whether the pass is caught within a team or not. If not, the disc possession is changed.

Keep at least 1 m distance to the thrower!

Points are scored when the disc is caughtin the end zone of the opposing team (1 point). You are not allowed to run into the end zone with the disc to score (not even when stopping).

If a catcher gets outside the out-of-bounds line when stopping, he may continue the game on the out-of-bounds line, as long as he has already caught the disc before the line. In the star step, the thrower may also place "the playing leg" outside the boundaries of the playing field.

If a defending player catches the disc in his end zone, he starts his team's play at the score line.

Fair play

The players regulate the game themselves.

Physical contact and obstruction (jostling, pushing, etc.) are prohibited.

Ultimate - game without referee

...................................

Each player is also a referee and indicates a foul he is involved in by raising his arm.

Then the game is stopped. If a foul is agreed upon, the disc is handed over to the defenders, if "no foul" is agreed upon, the attackers keep the disc. Then the game is continued.
