There is a sea in purple from 08.08.-09.09. annually in the Lüneburg Heath.
Characteristic for the Lüneburg Heath are undoubtedly the herd of heidschnucken with their shepherd and the purple shining, undulating heath areas with the tall juniper. Until 4,500 years ago, the Lüneburg Heath consisted mainly of oak and birch forests.
In Bad Bevensen there is a small heath area, our Klein Bünstorfer Heide. It can be reached by bicycle in 10 minutes. On foot or with the citizen bus 14 tägig on Sunday a small highlight. Other heath areas can be found nearby in Ellerndorf as seen here on the photos, around the Wilseder Berg in Wilsede, Undeloh, Ober- and Niederhaverbeck, Lüllau, Hermannburg, Schneeverdingen, Wildpark Niendorf, Hof Tütsberg, Visselhövede, Fallingbostel, Amelinghausen, Ebstorf and in the Wendland.
