Hike to St.Hippolyt

Situated in a beautiful clearing in the Merano region , the little church can be hiked to in about an hour directly from our Hotel Der Waldhof.

Passing the Mayenburg castle, follow trail no. 8 from the center of Völlan through orchards and the forest path through the forest to the Talmühle mill, then continue over an old Roman bridge on the Brandisbach stream to a wayside cross (wayside shrine), where you take a sharp left. You reach the Obermayrhof (Obermoarhof), which you leave to the right and then follow the signs downhill into a valley that leads directly to the exposed hill of St. Hippolyt (758m above sea level).
