Helpful facts

A panoramic mountain tour high above the Tscharser mountain ridge. We take our own car along a narrow mountain road up the Vinschger Sonnenberg to just below the highest farm at approx. 1,680m. After a few minutes on the gently ascending alpine path, we branch off onto a path and hike up a steep incline along a so-called cart track to an alpine pasture at 2,100m, which is open in high summer. After a break, we continue past primeval larches to the edge of the forest and over increasingly open mountain boulder terrain and several small terrain steps we reach the destination of our mountain tour at 2,430m. A mighty cross adorns the Tschars ridge and looks down into the valley. It would be hard to find a nicer place for a snack after the strenuous ascent. We enjoy the sun and the fantastic panoramic view, which stretches from the Ortler group, the Merano basin to the Dolomites.
