Legendary hike into the Tschamin valley with a visit to the old Venetian sawmill

An atmospheric hike along water, forest and ancient cultural landscapes. Legendary places and the wild Tschamin Valley give this tour its special character.

Tour description:

We start at the valley station of the Tiers cable car and follow the Forest & Water nature trail past the new power station in the direction of Steger Säge. From there we continue via Weißlahnbad in the direction of Tschetterloch and reach the Schwarzer Lettn. We continue through the Tschamin valley to the Rechter Leger, where we cross the Tierser Bach stream. We then follow the forest path back to the nature park information point at the Steger Säge sawmill.

Finally, we visit the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park information point at the Steger Säge sawmill. Unfortunately, the old Venetian sawmill cannot be shown at the moment as it was damaged by a storm. Nevertheless, it is well worth a visit: In the lovingly restored sawmill master's home, you can expect exciting insights into alpine craft culture, geology and the flora and fauna of the nature park - with audio stations, a small film room and interactive exhibition elements.

We finally return to the cable car via the Forest & Water nature trail.

Useful information / What to bring

Alpine footwear and clothing suitable for hiking, rain jacket, sun cream and headgear, water bottle;

Eventual tickets for mountain railroads and lunch are not included.

The guest pass for the use of public buses is available free of charge for our guests at reception.

We recommend the 3 in 7 or 5 in 7 Mountain Pass. This allows you to conveniently use the various exit facilities in the area. The mountain pass is available at the tourist office and at the Tiers cable car.
