SKITOURING CAMP

Lift-assisted ski touring training for beginners

07/08/01 and 28/29/01 as well as 11/12/02 and 04/05/03 2023

In this camp, you will spend 2 days in open terrain and focus on energy-saving and efficient ascent techniques, the right track layout and safe movement in alpine terrain. We will also take a comprehensive look at the correct use of emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel) and carry out exercises on the subject of avalanches. This ski touring camp lays the foundation for independent ski touring for the participants. To reach the starting points and to learn and consolidate the correct skiing technique in the terrain, we also use the cable cars and lifts from time to time.

The 2-day course includes: material knowledge, avalanche emergency workshop, basics of planning and track setting, off-piste skiing technique training, ascent technique with skins, understanding avalanche reports, terrain assessment, recognition of alpine dangers.

The course is organized and run by a state-certified mountain & ski guide.

Required equipment:

- Skis (minimum 88mm waist width recommended) with ascent binding and

skins as well as touring ski boots and telescopic poles

- Helmet, goggles, ski touring clothing including down or Primaloft, rucksack

(airbag recommended), emergency equipment (first aid kit, bivouac sack), sun cream, cell phone, etc.
