Guided Hike from the Zillertal Alps Nature Park
Colorful alpine flowers, a waterfall, and a guaranteed sighting of marmots
Our exciting tour begins after a short gondola ride to the Sommerbergalm. The first section takes us uphill along an adventure trail through the Tux-Welten. We leave this trail behind and soon catch sight of the Tuxer-Joch-Haus, which offers fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. From the mountain hut, we descend into the idyllic Weitental valley, which has plenty to offer. In addition to the many colorful alpine flowers, a large colony of marmots inhabits the valley. We’re sure to spot them eating, playing, or basking in the sun. Another highlight is the gorge at the end of the valley. The trail follows the stream, which carves ever deeper into its bed and plunges over the Schleierwaterfall into the depths. From the waterfall, we make our way back to Hintertux at a leisurely pace through alpine pastures and sparse mountain forest.
