Mattmark Biketrail

This mountain bike route starts here in Saas-Grund. Walk along the Vispa river towards Saas Almagell and Zer Meiggeru, near the equalization basin, take the paved road towards Eijusand and then head uphill. Cross the bridge and turn left onto the dirt road. Cross the area in front of the dam to reach the Mattmark restaurant. From here, first go through a pedestrian tunnel and then follow the left bank of the lake to Dischtelalp. Then take a narrower path along the right bank back to the dam wall before setting off on the rapid descent to Saas-Almagell. Ride straight ahead at first. A path that winds its way through stony terrain takes you to the field at the foot of the dam. The return to your starting point follows the same route as the ascent.
