Tennis, also known as white sport, had its origin already in the Middle Ages and got its first playing surfaces in Paris in the 16th century. First in monastery courts, then also in so-called ball game halls it took its way as a leisure activity into different population strata.
The English major Wingfield registered the patent for tennis in 1874, which contributed to the beginning of the sport's worldwide fame in 1877 at the first tournament in Wimbledon, with the rules still in force today.
With its four indoor and four outdoor courts, Sportwelt Radeberg offers ample opportunities to test the game with the yellow ball at any time of the year and to prove one's skills in tournaments.
