Cross-country skiing is an extremely dynamic sport - it even involves more muscle groups than running! - but also low-risk and low-impact, so it is suitable for everyone.
You can find about 45 km of cross-country trails between Bormio, Valdidentro and Santa Caterina Valfurva.
Specially suitable for beginners or those approaching this discipline for the first time is the Alute track in Bormio, which consists of a 5-km-long loop with several ups and downs and long straights, and a 2.5-km-long loop that is slightly more technical than the former, as it offers more elevation changes.
This slope is also very convenient and easy to reach: in fact, it is located at the foot of Mount Vallecetta, not far from the arrival of the ski slopes and from the town center, opening into a wide area that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
In addition to the Alute slope, the Bormio ski area also includes the Valtellina slope in Santa Caterina Valfurva and the Viola slope in Valdidentro!
