The Max Valier Observatory with the Peter Anich Solar Observatory has been offering locals and visitors insights into space and fascinating views of the sun and moon since 2002. Those who visit the observatory in the evening or at night can expect a breathtaking view of the sky! It is run by South Tyrol's amateur astronomers and was named after the South Tyrolean Max Valier (1895 - 1930), the pioneer of space travel.
The observatory itself consists of a building with a 6 m dome containing a reflecting telescope. There is also an observation platform for smaller telescopes and a lecture room. The second building is the solar observatory with the solar telescope: its dome diameter of 4.2 m is large enough to allow disabled access.
Please bear in mind that it can get very cold in the observatory and dress accordingly.
Tours are canceled in the event of rain or snowfall.
