A visit to our show dairy is worthwhile for the whole family and provides an informative insight into the working world of a dairy. We invite you to watch the master cheesemaker process fresh hay milk into quality products!
At the beginning of the tour, a film will show you how one of our most valuable raw materials - milk - is processed. During the subsequent tour, you can watch the master cheesemaker make cheese from milk and learn everything you need to know about the production process.
The cheese dairy museum shows you the history of our dairy and gives you an impression of cheese production 100 years ago, which was carried out with the simplest of tools and equipment. After the tour, you can of course taste our products and purchase them in our specialist store.
Mayrhofen Adventure Dairy
The Adventure Dairy can be seen from afar at the entrance to Mayrhofen. You are greeted by colorful cows on the roof. Harmoniously embedded in the lush Zillertal meadow landscape, we present ourselves with natural building elements such as wood and glass as a modern alpine dairy, where not only high-quality hay milk and cheese products are produced, but where you can also become aware of the importance of the cycle of valuable "life resources".
We want to take a slightly different approach. Quality instead of quantity, regionality instead of globality, seasonality instead of multi-optionality! Our aim is to show our consumers and guests how our high-quality dairy products and cheese specialties are made from hay milk. From the origin to the processing to the result, you can "SINN-fully enjoy" the "food" of Sennerei Zillertal in our show farm (opened in 2015), in our show dairy, the in-house restaurant, the dairy kitchen and in farm-gate sales!
