Instinctive archery with Robert

Instinctive archery offers challenges, feelings of happiness and a lot of fun. First and foremost, however, it is a lesson in "relying on yourself".

The terms "instinctive, traditional or intuitive archery" are designations for shooting techniques that combine the archer's physical feeling and experience alone to bring the arrow to the target. We are returning to the roots and the basic methods of our ancestors. Shooting is purely instinctive, without any further technology such as bow sights or other additional equipment on the bow.

Many people are fascinated by the bow and arrow; drawing a bow and feeling this stored energy and then releasing the arrow furiously at a target is an experience that you never forget.

The interplay between deep, relaxed concentration and a feeling for the right moment to release the arrow. In these highly technical times, it is a great experience to feel this.

The basic course

provides an introduction to the techniques and philosophy of "instinctive archery". It is an impressive experience for beginners as well as experienced sport archers. After the first part of the basic course, we go to the 3D course together to practise what we have learned. The positioning of the targets on a 3D archery course corresponds to a natural environment and simulates a hunting situation for the archer. As a change from conventional target shooting, handling a bow and arrow in the great outdoors is a special experience. The varied terrain formations as well as different shooting distances, uphill and downhill and everything that the great outdoors brings with it is the attraction!

The last shot is at 5.00 pm.

The course

The course can only be used by arrangement and appointment by telephone or e-mail. Only experienced and trained shooters are permitted to use the course without an accompanying person from Highwood Archery.

For graduates of the Highwood Archery basic courses, rental equipment is also available.
