Panoramic drive through the Nockberge UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

The Nockalmstraße winds its way for 34 kilometers through the unique mountain landscape of the Nockberge. Between Innerkrems and Ebene Reichenau, the toll road winds its way through rolling hilltops, fragrant Swiss stone pine forests, blooming alpine meadows, and impressive high-mountain landscapes. The characteristic “Nock’n” with their rounded peaks are a geological peculiarity and define the landscape of this unique region.

Along the route, you’ll find numerous viewpoints, themed trails, interactive stations, playgrounds, exhibitions, and cozy alpine huts. Parking areas invite you to leave your car behind and enjoy nature on a short hike or stroll.

Reaching an altitude of up to 2,042 meters at the Eisentalhöhe, the Nockalmstraße is one of Carinthia’s highest and most beautiful scenic roads. Many visitors describe the Nockberge Mountains as one of Austria’s most beautiful landscapes—ideal for nature lovers, families, motorcyclists, and hiking enthusiasts.
