FOR BEGINNERS AND ADVANCED SKIERS. Our ski touring courses are the right place for you, we will introduce you to the sport of ski touring with helpful tips and tricks! From the right equipment, tour planning to the ascent techniques on the way to the summits. In our 3 levels you will find exactly the right ski touring program for you and your friends. The Stubai ski touring and hike & ride offer is huge. 109 three thousand metre peaks, 60 glaciers, 4 ski areas, including the largest glacier ski area in Austria are waiting for you. We know the Stubai backcountry like the back of our hand, and are therefore your competent partners for all freeride and ski touring excursions in our home. SAFETY EQUIPMENT: On all of our trips we supplement your safety equipment free of charge. Shovels, probes and PIEPS, packed in an airbag backpack are available for you. Helmets are also compulsory on the descent during our ski touring courses. EQUIPMENT LIST: You should have the following items in your backpack for our ski touring courses: An equipment list as PDF will follow shortly... The weight plays a big role here! Please organize your backpacks so that they never have more than about 10 kilos! Especially with airbag systems you have to be careful that you can still carry the whole equipment. CONDITION: For our beginner courses, the Rookie Touring courses, you need to be fit for about 400 - 600 vertical meters per day. A certain basic level of fitness is always an advantage, especially if you have to learn new movements at altitude. For the Advance groups you will need up to 1000 meters of altitude per day, for the Pro Group you need to be as fit as an ibex. SKI TOURING: High-quality ski touring equipment can be rented and tested at Sport Hofer. For the Hike and Ride tours on the glacier we recommend the Inter Sport Shop on the Eisgrat. Before a ski tour the personal equipment must be checked for function and safety, this works best at our office. Then it will also work in the terrain. Private guide bookable daily.
