On the trail of historic woodwork
Exciting journey through time in the footsteps of the woodworkers: in the 19th century, the wood felled in the Karwendel was "drifted" down the river to Scharnitz and processed there. The nature hike follows the Holzern & Triftern on impressive trails - initially at eye level with the torrent - through the fascinating Gleirschklamm. The tour then continues to the Oberbrunnalm (possibility to stop for refreshments) and through the Kreidegraben back to Scharnitz, where the tour ends with a visit to the Holzerhütte museum.
