Hochfügen 37, Fügenberg
The Museum in the Widumspfiste, run by the local history and museum association, focuses on the history of the Zillertal singing families and the associated spread of the song "Silent Night" all over the world. With the help of pictures, music books, exhibits and documents, you can trace the singers' travels around the world.
This is not only interesting at Christmas time!
The song, which was written for Christmas 1818 in Oberndorf, was brought back to the Zillertal by organ builder Carl Mauracher from Fügen, who had been called to repair the organ in 1819, 200 years ago. This special role was honored in 2011 by the "Silent Night Society Salzburg" with a special Christmas stamp!
