Elli Riehl doll world

The doll world or the Elli Riehl Museum is dedicated to the woman who could make dolls for children with just a bit of wire, absorbent cotton, fabric and paint. In over 40 years Elli Riehl made countless different dolls - women and men, Dirndln and boys, Engerln and fairy tale creatures.

In 1973, Elli Riehl began to set up a museum in her apartment in the Berger family home to display her dolls. Even after her death in 1977, interest in her life's work continued and the small museum was generously remodeled by the Berger family in 1990 and again in 1999. Today it is a modern world of experience on two levels. In addition to the lovingly arranged 700 dolls, which bring visitors closer to the rural world of the region, part of the exhibition tells the fascinating life story of Elli Riehl and shows the tools she used to work with.
