Big Band Night with the Innseit'n Bigband

The Innseit'n Bigband can look back on a large number of concerts and performances in Tyrol and Germany. Fixed points in the school year are the Christmas concerts at the Christmas markets and the concerts in Innsbruck's Treibhaus.

In 2008/09, Christian Wegscheider and Thomas Steinbrucker founded the Innseit'n Bigband at the Music School of the City of Innsbruck.

This allows pupils to try their hand at jazz and popular music alongside the orchestras. Christian Wegscheider initially formed the young members into a team under the name Big Band Innsbruck Youngsters. From 2013 until the end of the 2022/23 school year, Thomas Steinbrucker took over as conductor. Raphaela Selhofer and Christian Wegscheider have been leading the band together since September 2023.

The repertoire is characterized by swing, funk and soul.
