Description
To celebrate the end of the alpine summer in style, alpine herders, farmers, locals, and visitors to the valley are invited to the cattle drive and livestock show this coming Thursday, September 19, at the Scheidplatz near the Breitach Bridge in Riezlern.
A total of 220 animals from the Bärgunt and Galtöde alp pastures will arrive at the Scheidplatz in Riezlern at approximately 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., respectively.
As in previous years, visitors can look forward to a festival tent with food and drinks, live music, and a farmers’ and vendors’ market.
In addition, the experienced alpine herder Jodok Fritz will give his usual insightful talk on agriculture and alpine farming in the Kleinwalertal.
A slide show will feature highlights from the current alpine summer and previous alpine descents.
