Nationalpark-Partnerbetriebe Osttirol
Discover a spectacular section of the Isel Trail together with a National Park ranger.
The Isel—East Tyrol’s mighty glacial river
On this ranger-led hike, you’ll tackle the Isel Trail from the “opposite” side. Especially between Ströden and Virgen, the Isel reveals its most spectacular side. The trail down into the valley leads you to the edge of the dramatic, pathless Isel Gorge, where you can hear the Isel roaring deep below. The highlight of this tour is without a doubt the 84-meter-long and 90-meter-high suspension bridge.
Immerse yourself in the world of the last unspoiled glacial river in the Alps and the wild, primeval landscape of the Virgen Valley.
