After reaching the Dürrenstein hut we then trek uphill to today's destination, the Strudelkopf.\n\nThis hike offers a breathtakingly beautiful view of the Dolomites: the Three Peaks seem close enough to touch, the Hohe Gaisl, the Seekofel, the Cadini Group, Monte Cristallo and the Tofana... you really will not know where to look first.\n\nHistorically this place has a lot to offer too as it was a hotly contested front during the first world war where an Austro-Hungarian fort (recently restored) served to secure the Pragser Valley. And on the Strudelkopf there is the Heimkehrer-Kreuz (homecoming cross), erected by the Pustertal front-line fighters to commemorate their fallen comrades.\n\nWalking time: approx. 3,5 hours\n\napprox. 350 meters altitude difference\n\nDifficulty: moderate hike tour\n\nRefreshments: Dürrenstein Hut, Prato Piazza: Please don't forget the money for lunch at the alpine hut.\n\nDo not forget the drinks\n\nFrom 10 years\n\n\n\nOur hotel bus offers space for the first 7 enrolled persons!
