Universitätsstraße 104, Klagenfurt am Wörthersee
This guided hike takes us to the southernmost part of Austria.
First, we take a leisurely walk along the Loiblbach stream until the actual gorge begins after the
Goldenen Bründl. Well-secured
it goes over ladders, steps and bridges to the first of 3 waterfalls.
A bridge and a spiral staircase lead directly next to the
first waterfall to the top, where the
second waterfall is reached below the Loiblpass road. We cross a bold suspension bridge
to reach the thundering Tschauko Falls, a spectacular
viewing platform and a huge rock gate. Now we follow the
nature trail "In the footsteps of Dr. Peter Tschauko". Numerous
display boards inform us about the fauna and flora of the Loibl Valley.
Passing the refreshing Elfenquelle spring and the Liebes-Platzl
we finally reach the traditional "Deutscher
Peter" inn. After a well-earned rest, we return to
the Wörthersee. The difference in altitude is approx. 200 m, the pure
walking time approx. 2 hours.
