Description
On this excursion to the Arztaler Alm in Ellbögen, enjoy a family outing close to nature in the idyllic Arztal valley—perfect for children, animal lovers, and those who appreciate the finer things in life.
Every Thursday at 9:45 a.m., a minibus will comfortably take you from the meeting point to the alpine pasture, where an easy circular hike through the unspoiled mountain landscape begins. Along the way and at the alpine pasture, you’ll encounter ponies, cows, Black-Nosed sheep, goats, pigs, and even rare breeds of cattle, making this excursion a particularly lively nature experience. The Arztaler Alm, a member of the Arche Austria program, also makes a valuable contribution to the conservation of rare livestock breeds.
The meeting point is at the Ellbögen Volunteer Fire Department, Niederstraße 222, 6083 Ellbögen; the total duration is approximately 5 hours, including about 1.5 hours of walking time, covering a distance of 3.9 km with 248 meters of elevation gain and loss. Please note that hiking or mountaineering boots and appropriate clothing are required; the minimum age is 6 years; dogs are not allowed; and the taxi shuttle to the alpine pasture and back is included. Free cancellation is possible up to 48 hours before the start; if the minimum number of participants is not reached or in the event of bad weather, the tour may be canceled, in which case any participation fees already paid will be refunded in full.
