Details

From 7 to 10 May, the popular Tyrolean literature festival achensee.literatour brings together no less than six strong women from the Austrian cultural scene as well as a classic of world literature at Lake Achensee. The line-up is completed by the two Tyrolean authors Robert Prosser and the patron of the event, successful author Bernhard Aichner.

On Thursday, May 7, Vea Kaiser will open the festival and present her fast-paced bestseller "Fabula Rasa oder die Königin des Grandhotels" at the Hotel Entners am See. During the evening, the HAYMON achensee.literatour Scholarship 2026 will also be awarded to Mieze Medusa for her new novel "Hätte ich es vorher gewusst, hätte ich es genauso gemacht".

For the first time in the history of the achensee.literatour, one of Austria's best-known actresses will read from a classic of world literature. Verena Altenberger, former "Buhlschaft" at the Salzburg Festival, takes the audience into Isabel Allende's "Geisterhaus" and invites them onto the ship for the ideal tour reading. Bernhard Aichner, patron of the event, will conclude the day with a thriller dinner at Entners am See and read from his current bestseller "John".

The traditional reading at the Erfurter Hütte will see a reunion with former achensee.literatour scholarship holder Robert Prosser, who will read from his latest novel "Das geplünderte Nest". At the same time, Emil Kaschka takes the helm on board the ship and serves his spoken texts between breakfast eggs and orange juice at the literary brunch the following day. This year's debut reading with Julia Pustet will take place at the Seehotel Einwaller. The Saturday program will be completed by the former Bachmann Prize winner (2019) Birgit Birnbacher, who will present her latest novel "Sie wollen uns erzählen" to the audience at the Alter Widum in Achenkirch.

Maria Höfle from Kufstein is responsible for the concluding Sunday crime thriller hike along the Dien-Mut trail in Pertisau.
