Hike around "Sprechenstein

Southeast of the Sterzing valley basin rises a rocky hill on which the Sprechenstein castle is enthroned. Starting from the Burgfrieden inn, we climb up the sunny slope in the direction of the castle. Afterwards, we continue our ascent along the Trenser Höhenweg. At the highest point of the hike we finally turn back towards Sterzing and cross the slope on a flat passage to then descend again towards the castle. If the opportunity arises, we can stop at the small inn opposite the castle and taste some of the fine farm products. The last part of the tour leads us, depending on our choice, over the ascending slope or west down the castle hill and back to the starting point.

The length of the tour is about 4.5 km. In the ascent to the highest point there are about 280 meters of altitude difference. The hiking trail is well trodden. Hiking poles are recommended, but not absolutely necessary. In any case, at least light hiking boots with a grippy sole should be used.
