Start at the parking lot in Axamer Lizum, head south slightly uphill past the valley station of the Birgitzköpfllift, follow the road into the valley for a short distance and at an avalanche dam turn left uphill and follow the signs "Halsl, Birgitzköpfl and Birgitzer Alm". At the beginning of the forest edge keep left out of the valley, cross the ski slopes and through the forest always slightly ascending out of the valley to Birgitzer Alm - "Butterbründlsteig".
Return: Either as with the ascent or from the Birgitzer Alm in a southerly direction on trail no. 22 up to the Birgitzköpfl and in a few minutes to the Birgitzköpflhaus - Birgitzköpfl mountain station.
