Castle Hohenwerfen, which is over 900 years old, sits enthroned on the steep rocky cone high above the Salzach Valley. During a visit to the medieval walls, you will not only learn interesting facts about life in earlier times, but you can also watch the impressive birds of prey show at the historic Landesfalkenhof. Falcons, vultures, eagles and other native birds of prey demonstrate their flying skills several times a day and provide an insight into the centuries-old art of falconry.

The interior of the castle can only be visited as part of a guided tour.
Dogs are welcome on a lead in the outdoor area (castle courtyard). Dogs are not permitted on the guided tour.
