An individual tour starting in Heiden - with a magnificent view over the lake. Either you start with the PostBus or you make a hike on the famous "Witzweg" to Walzenhausen. On the way you will be accompanied again and again by "listig-träfe" Appenzeller jokes. There is also the possibility to walk only a part of the Witzwanderweg and to take the PostBus for the other part (PostBus stops directly on the way are in Wolfhalden and in Hueb).

In Walzenhausen, the rack railroad is waiting to take you down to Rheineck at a brisk pace. There the boat promises a romantic trip through the nature reserve of the Old Rhine - into the Rorschach Bay. From Rorschach, take the Heiden-Rorschach train and you'll be back at Hotel Heiden.

By the way, the route is also possible in the opposite direction.

The adventure tour takes about 4 hours, with hiking about 6 hours.
