Half-day tour to the Wolfsgrube

Route description:

The ideal tour if you don't have the whole day and still want to discover some of the highlights of the Catinaccio area.

From the village center, we stay on the main road towards the Carezza Pass for just a few minutes. We soon leave the busy road and take the forest path on the left for our main ascent to the Heinzenalm. Here we recommend a short break on the alpine meadow with lots of homemade delicacies.

Just a little further up to the Nigerjoch road with unobstructed views of the Rosengarten and Latemar. From now on, the route is pleasantly flat along the 1a hiking trail to the Niger Pass, where we turn left onto the forest road.

This continues without any major elevations past the Schillerhof farm to the Wolfsgrube. This is where the last wolves were caught in the 18th century.

After a brief visit, we head towards the Pardellerhof farm, where another incredible panorama awaits. You can easily return to the starting point of this half-day tour via the farm access road at the back of the village.
