Snowshoeing in Durango offers some of the best views in Southwest Colorado. With the Colorado Trail beginning in Durango, the 480+ mile trail is a paradise for those looking to snowshoe this winter! With a beautiful waterfall and views unlike any other, Cascade Canyon is a must-visit spot for cross-country skiing around Durango. Located north of Durango, Cascade Canyon can be accessed via Old Lime Creek Road. Once parked, you'll have access to the entire canyon and cross-country trails that snake toward the Needle Mountains. Enjoy huge views of the mountains and you glide through the Aspen and Pine-covered forests. La Plata Canyon is also a wonderful spot just west of Durango to snowshoe or cross-country ski! Check All Trails for even more trail ideas for your winter adventures!
