The "Schöne Sennerin", as the via ferrata is called in German, is a really successful sport via ferrata on the Saukarkopf. Nestled in lush alpine meadows, the 130 m long via ferrata leads over the short but steep west face to the summit.

Parking lot:
Parking possibility at the ENI gas station, at the Vorderstadluck farm OR at the Saukaralm parking lot in front of the Sonnegg bridge.
Equipment:
Complete via ferrata set and helmet, for weaker walkers a safety rope.
Route description:
From the parking lot at the farms of Vorderstadluck on marked hiking trail to the wonderfully located Saukaralm. From the alp follow the normal path to the summit for a few minutes. At the signpost "Klettersteig" turn right and in a few minutes to the entrance under the west face of the Saukarkopf. Entry coordinates: N 47°15'17", O 13°13'48"
Descent:
From the end of the steel cable, follow the ridge to the summit cross. From the summit turn right via the marked normal trail to the Saukaralm and from there via the ascent trail back to Vorderstadluck or to Großarl.
