Meeting point for this tour is the lower parking lot at the sports field in Latsch. We drive together with our own car about 15. min in the direction of Naturno. From the starting point in Staben we reach a comfortable ascent through pine and chestnut forests, alternating with typical steppe vegetation, accompanied by the murmur of the water of the Waale. Below us in the valley spreads a sea of white apple blossoms (April). We also briefly walk along the so-called "Via Vinum Venostis", the Vinschgau wine trail. Due to the extreme sunshine and the low rainfall, there is a unique steppe vegetation on the Vinschger Sonnenberg where even cacti can be found and in the right season you can even admire their blossoms. At the end of the rushing Waal we then reach the famous Juval Castle and the lord of the castle is none other than Reinhold Messner, probably the most famous South Tyrolean. After the 2.5 to 3 hour hike, we will stop at the Gasthof Schlosswirt Juval. After a refreshment we hike back to the starting point.
