Reifenstein Castle is a medieval castle south of Sterzing and is owned by the Tyrolean Counts of Thurn und Taxis. Reifenstein is one of the most important and best-preserved medieval castles in South Tyrol in terms of art history. The living and working quarters within the complex have been preserved in their original state. The cistern, castle kitchen, bathing room, the sleeping chambers of the soldiers, paneled parlors, the famous Green Hall and much more give visitors a deep insight into medieval life.
