Hike to the Edelhütte at the foot of the Ahornspitze with Michele

We take the hotel shuttle to Mayrhofen and ride Austria’s largest gondola to the Ahornbahn mountain station, from Mayrhofen up to the Hahnpfalz (1,960 m)

Ascent: After getting off the Ahornbahn gondola, we’ll follow a wide trail across the plateau-like Filzenboden to a saddle and then into the small Filzenkar cirque. With a slight descent along the way, we cross the green slopes below the Filzenkogel and gradually climb again into the more expansive Föllenbergkar, where we make a distinctive left turn up to the Edelhütte (2,238 m).

🚶↔ Hike: approx. 3 hrs

🏔️↑ Elevation gain: approx. 500 m

🥾🥾 🥾Difficulty: moderate ❗️Sure-footedness, a head for heights, and good stamina required!

Equipment: Sturdy, ankle-high hiking boots, a spare T-shirt, water bottles, sunscreen, a snack, a rain/wind jacket, and cash for refreshments.

Hiking boots required without exception!!

🍽️Refreshment stops: Plauener Hütte starting mid-June, Klein Tibet starting in June (closed Sun, Mon, Tue)

- Registration required!

- Transportation costs will be charged on a pro-rata basis. There are 8 seats available on our hotel bus. If the bus is already full, please follow us in your own car.

- Cost of the gondola ride:

approx. 30.00 EUR for adults

approx. 15.00 EUR for children ages 7 and up
