At an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level, Turrach is home to the Montanmseum, which owes its origins to mining and the associated iron production.
Already in 1256 Turrach was mentioned in connection with iron ore mining for the 1st time. 250 years of mining history of the village have been documented. In the museum there are documents telling about the life and work of the mining pioneers Peter Tunner the Elder and Peter Tunner.
Furthermore, the mining museum imparts valuable knowledge about the "Bruderlade" a precursor of the social insurance and the origin of the "Turracher Heimatlied".
