Winnebachseehütte in Gries (Längenfeld)

The hut is a rustic, cozy Alpine Club hut with a family-friendly atmosphere. It’s beautifully situated on Lake Winnebach, surrounded by mountain peaks and a waterfall. A great destination for the whole family and for those who want to hike from hut to hut. In summer, it serves as a base for mountaineers, with a climbing area near the hut.

Starting point and hiking time:

Park your car in Gries near Längenfeld. Continue toward Winnebach, where you’ll find the trailhead for the Winnebachseehütte. Always follow the signs. (Hiking time: approx. 2 hours)

Trails from the hut: Schweinfurter Hütte approx. 5 hours, Westfalenhaus approx. 3 h, Amberger Hut via Gries approx. 4 h or via Gaislehnscharte approx. 5 h (glacier experience required!)

Summit hikes from the hut: Gänsekragen approx. 1.5–2 hours, Hoher Seeblaskogel approx. 3 hours.

With mountaineering experience and glacier gear: Breiter Grieskogel approx. 3–4 hours, Winnebacher Weißkogel approx. 3–4 hours, Hohe Winnebachspitze approx. 3 hours, Bachfallenkopf approx. 3 hours (alpine experience required).
