Guided Hike “Up to the Seealpe”

Discover the impressive Faltenbachtobel with its unique and remarkable flora and fauna, and the breathtaking Seealpe. The group will set off from the hotel at 1:00 p.m. and first walk along Nebelhornstraße toward the ski jumps at the Orlen Arena. From there, the trail leads directly into the lower part of the Faltenbachtobel.

Over the centuries, the waters of the Faltenbach have carved an impressive path through the slopes of the Schattenberg. Today, the gorge provides a unique habitat for many rare and protected animal and plant species and reveals rock layers that would otherwise remain hidden deep within the earth of the Allgäu Alps.

The upper section of the ravine trail passes a hydroelectric power plant that captures a portion of the Faltenbach’s water and channels it down into the valley to generate electricity. The trail, which is now close to its natural state again, then climbs over a ridge above the gorge and continues on to the Seealpe.
