Schlegeis reservoir - Mayrhofen

The idyllic mountaineering village of Ginzling in the Zillertal is located in the Zemmgrund. The village lies at an altitude of 1,000 m above sea level and is surrounded by a majestic backdrop of several three-thousand-metre peaks. From there, you can reach the Schlegeis reservoir via the approx. 16 km long Schlegeis Alpine Road, which takes you through the beautiful valley of the Zamser Bach stream.

Be impressed by the sight of the imposing structure. With a "double-curved" dam wall that is 725 m long and 131 m high, the Schlegeis reservoir is one of the largest reservoirs in Tyrol and Austria and yet blends harmoniously into the magnificent natural scenery of the Zillertal Alps Nature Park.
