James, a penguin from the South Pole who travels around the world, meets Vladimir the polar bear in the icy world of the North Pole. Together, they gaze at the stars, marvel at the length of the polar nights, and realize they want to learn more about them.

Together, they build the spaceship Polaris and embark on a turbulent space adventure. As they explore Mars, Saturn, and Earth, they discover the differences and similarities between the planets. Looking at Earth from space, they finally figure out why the nights are sometimes long and other times so short.

The show has won multiple international awards.
