Details

This hike starts at the Gasthof Talwirt parking lot at the head of the valley in Hüttschlag. The trail first leads flat through meadows and meadows, past a natural Kneipp facility, in about 1 hour to the Ötzlsee lake.

After that, the trail leads over hill and dale (sure-footedness is essential!) spectacularly, and always next to the roaring stream, into the idyllic Schödertal valley. Finally you reach the Schödersee. This is a periodic mountain lake that only fills up when the snow melts and after particularly heavy downpours. During periods of good weather in summer, it often dries out completely due to its underground drainage.
