Dresdner Kreuzchor
Cantor of the Cross Martin Lehmann・ Conductor
Most people associate the Dresden Kreuzchor with the magic of bright, clear boys' voices, a magic that no one can escape. As the oldest cultural institution in Dresden, the Kreuzchor is closely linked to the city's cultural life and also represents this to the outside world.
One of the Kreuzchor's most important tasks, even after more than 800 years, is to sing in the liturgical
services of the Kreuzkirche on Dresden's Altmarkt. In addition, it shapes the city's concert life in choral concerts with an extensive repertoire of choral music ranging from Schütz, Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Brahms, Schumann and Weber to the music of our time, including both sacred and secular music. And as a "sideline", Kruzians repeatedly take part in performances at the Semperoper.
