Schwarzach Valley

This winter hike starts directly at our hotel - just get out, wrap up warm and off you go!

Follow the small road past the Hotel Almhof for around 1 km to the "Seemeile" junction. On the descent to the dam wall, pay close attention - then an exciting little tunnel leads directly into the next winter adventure.

After the tunnel, continue right to Gasthof Kühle Rast. There you hike through a narrow strip of forest before a leisurely ascent. For around an hour, you walk through a narrow, romantic valley along the Schwarzach - absolutely idyllic!

At the end, the Schwarzachalm, situated at almost 1,400 m (closed on Mondays), awaits - or you can choose the option on the left after the tunnel and walk directly along the banks of the Gmünder reservoir. Both beautiful!

Schwarzachalm: closed on Mondays

Walking time: approx. 2 hours (there & back)

Recommendation: sturdy winter shoes - it can be slippery

Suitable for: Baby carriages or sledges - perfect for little adventurers
